ISTANBUL (AA) - The foreign ministers of Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates on Sunday discussed over phone the latest developments with regards to fighting between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas, diplomatic sources said.
Hakan Fidan and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the tensions in the region, the sources said.
No further details were given.
Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, saying the unprecedented attack was in response to storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and increased settler violence. It said it fired rockets and captured many Israelis.
In retaliation, the Israeli army initiated Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas, launching air strikes on the Gaza Strip.
Israel has declared a state of war, saying Hamas will pay a heavy price.
