ANKARA (AA) – Leicester City, who were the 2016 champions, have been relegated from the English Premier League on Sunday despite a victory over West Ham United.
Leicester City, known as the Foxes, beat West Ham 2-1 at their home ground King Power Stadium.
However, Everton defeated Bournemouth 1-0 at Liverpool's Goodison Park to finish the 2022-23 Premier League in 17th spot, ensuring that the Toffees remained in the top-flight English division, while Leicester City finished 18th with 34 points in 38 matches, unable to avoid relegation.
Everton had 36 points to stay alive.
In addition, Leeds United, who came 19th after the final fixture, were also relegated alongside Leicester City.
Tottenham Hotspur won 4-1 at Leeds as Spurs' English star Harry Kane scored twice.
Southampton, Leeds United and Leicester City will play in the second-tier Championship next season.
