ANKARA (AA) – Former Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano completed his move to the Turkish football club Fraport TAV Antalyaspor on Friday.
Antalyaspor said on Twitter that the 34-year-old signed a one-and-half year contract with the Spor Toto Super Lig club.
The Brazilian forward arrived in the Turkish Mediterranean province of Antalya early Friday as he met the club's head coach Nuri Sahin.
Adriano last played for Brazil's Palmeiras but became famous in European football when he was a Shakhtar Donetsk regular in 2007-2015.
He scored 130 goals in 266 appearances for the Ukrainian powerhouse.
Adriano won six Ukrainian league titles and a UEFA Cup in 2009.
Then he played for AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Palmeiras.
He won the Russian league title with Spartak Moscow in 2017.
Luiz Adriano helped Palmeiras win back-to-back Copa Libertadores in 2020 and 2021.
Separately he played for his native Brazil for a few games.
