ANKARA (AA) - Former WNBA player Cappie Pondexter has been missing for several days, contributing writer for The Athletic Buffalo and The Athletic WNBA, Lyndsey D'Arcangelo said Thursday.
"Cappie Pondexter has been declared a missing person and there is an active investigation going on into her disappearance. Her phone/wallet were found in her home," D'Arcangelo wrote on Twitter about the 37-year-old American.
The WNBPA asked followers on Twitter to share information about Pondexter's whereabouts and said the union has reach out to authorities.
"We are sharing this out of concern for our fellow WNBPA sister, Cappie Pondexter. If you have any information, please contact authorities. Please help us spread the word and ensure that she is safe," it said on Twitter.
The two-time WNBA champion played for the Phoenix Mercury, New York Liberty, Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks and Indiana Fever.
Pondexter also made appearances for Besiktas and Fenerbahce in Turkey.
