ANKARA (AA) - Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has tested positive for coronavirus, his team said on Tuesday.
McLaren said on Twitter that the 21-year-old was tested after he recognized a diminished sense of smell and taste.
"I feel alright and have no other symptoms," tweeted the British driver, who is now self-isolating for two weeks in a hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he went on a holiday before the start of the 2021 season.
After completing the mandatory quarantine period, he is expected to join his team to prepare for the upcoming season.
The 2021 racing season is scheduled to begin on March 21 with the Australian Grand Prix.
