ANKARA (AA) - Paris and four other French cities decided to ban pesticides, according to a joint statement released by the cities on Thursday.
The cities which banned synthetic pesticides included northern Lille, western Nantes, southeastern Grenoble, central Clermont-Ferrand and capital Paris.
The statement indicated the necessity to protect biodiversity and health of the people as the reason for the ban.
But as another law enacted in 2017 already bans the use of pesticides in public space, the decision of the five cities does not constitute a major step.
