ATHENS (AA) – France issued a statement late Tuesday strongly condemning the attack on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

“Nothing can justify a strike against a hospital. Nothing can justify targeting civilians,” President Emmanuel Macron said on X.

The French Foreign Ministry said on X that "France strongly condemns the strike against Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City.”

“International law is binding on everyone and entails the protection of civilian populations,” it added.

More than 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on Tuesday, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu.

Footage showed corpses scattered across the hospital grounds.

According to an Anadolu reporter, thousands of Palestinians were at the hospital when the building came under bombardment.
