ANKARA (AA) - Cofidis' French cyclist Victor Lafay won Stage 2 of the Tour de France on Sunday.
Lafay completed the race in 4 hours, 46 minutes and 39 seconds with the contest held between Vitoria-Gasteiz and San Sebastian in Basque Country in northern Spain.
The track's length was 207.3 kilometers (128.8 miles).
Jumbo-Visma's Belgian rider Wout van Aert finished second, and former champion Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) came in third.
British athlete Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) has kept his yellow jersey as he is leading the general ranking with 9 hours, 9 minutes and 18 seconds.
The major cycling event will resume with the 193.5-kilometer (120.2-mile) third stage on Monday as the riders will start pedaling in the Spanish town of Amorebieta-Etxano but will reach the finish line in Bayonne, France.
The race will end on July 23 in Paris' Champs-Elysees after Stage 21.
