PARIS (AA) - French farmers took to the streets Friday, parking tractors in front of the iconic Palace of Versailles to protest the government's agricultural policies.
The demonstrators hoisted Union flags and the flag of France on their tractors.
Farmers, who are discontented with the agricultural policies and wages of the government and EU, occasionally organize protests with their tractors in Paris and its environs.
The Palace of Versailles, which holds significant importance in France’s political history, was built in the 17th century by order of King Louis XIV of France.
One of the most magnificent historical palaces in the country, Versailles welcomes 7 million visitors annually.
