ANKARA (AA) - French Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a 3-0 win in Sunday's Le Classique against Olympique Marseille as Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi had a historic night each at Marseille's Orange Velodrome.
PSG's French forward Mbappe scored a brace in the 25th and 55th minutes to reach 200 goals for his club.
Mbappe, 24, has equaled former PSG forward Edinson Cavani for the Paris giants' all-time goal scoring record.
Cavani, 36, who was a PSG regular from 2013-2020, is now playing for Spain's Valencia.
In the first half in Marseille, PSG's Argentine superstar Messi made a close-range finish after Mbappe's deadly pass into the six-yard box.
It was Messi's 700th club goal in his career.
Messi, 35, scored 672 goals for Barcelona before his move to PSG in 2021.
He has tallied 28 goals for the Paris club.
Leaders PSG have 60 points in 25 matches. Second-place Olympique Marseille are eight points behind them.
