ISTANBUL (AA) - Novak Djokovic beat Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight-sets to ease into the second round of French Open on Monday.
The Serbian World No. 3 defeated American Kovacevic 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 on Court Philippe Chatrier in Paris.
Fabio Fognini and Cameron Norrie also advanced to the next stage after beating their opponents on the second day of Roland Garros.
In women's singles, Belinda Bencic, who is World No. 12, was knocked out after a 2-1 loss to Elina Avanesyan.
Sloane Stephens, the 2018 French Open finalist, also qualified for the next round.
The 2023 French Open kicked off on Sunday and will run through June 11.
