ISTANBUL (AA) - French forward Anthony Martial has joined Sevilla FC on loan for the remainder of the 2021-22 season, Manchester United confirmed Tuesday.
"I know that he is a top player – one of the best strikers in the Premier League – but we have other players in his position," Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick said in a statement.
"It is his wish to leave but, like I said to him, it always takes different parts to find an agreement. The way that he trained and played when he came on (against West Ham), he showed his professionalism that I expect from everybody," he added.
Martial scored 79 goals in 269 matches for the Red Devils since moving to United from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015.
The 26-year-old has helped the club win the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the UEFA Europa League.
Martial will become the second Manchester United star to appear in the La Liga this season.
Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri has featured in 17 league games so far for his loan club, Alaves.
