ISTANBUL (AA) - Galatasaray's chairman election previously set for December has been postponed to the next year, the Istanbul club said Friday.
In a statement, Galatasaray said that the Istanbul Governorship told the club that the postponement for the Turkish associations' general assemblies was extended to a new date, Feb. 28, 2021.
The original date for the Lions' election for their next president and board was from Dec. 19-26, Galatasaray previously announced.
For this reason, Galatasaray should wait for late February to hold the club chair election.
The club's current president, Mustafa Cengiz, was elected in January 2018.
