ISTANBUL (AA) - Gennaro Gattuso has been appointed as Valencia’s new manager, the Spanish football club confirmed on Thursday.
"Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Gennaro Gattuso who will become the first-team coach of Valencia CF for the next two seasons until 30th of June 2024," the club said in a statement.
After hanging up his boots, Gattuso started his managerial career in 2013. He has coached AC Milan and Napoli, with whom he claimed the Coppa Italia in 2020.
The 44-year-old helped Italia win the 2006 FIFA World Cup title.
With AC Milan, he won several international trophies, including UEFA Champions League (2003, 2007), UEFA Super Cup (2003, 2007), and FIFA Club World Cup (2007).
Gattuso also clinched two Serie A titles in 2003 and 2007.
