GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) — The armed wing of Palestinian group Hamas said Wednesday that its fighters had killed 25 Israeli soldiers and injured dozens over the past three days in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades' spokesman Abu Obeida said the group's fighters had also destroyed or damaged 41 Israeli military vehicles.
"Two tunnel shafts and a home were booby-trapped and blown up against (Israeli) occupation soldiers, in addition to sniping one of the soldiers," he also said in the statement.
He added that Israeli military field command centers had been shelled with mortars and short-range rockets across enclave.
The Israeli army is yet to comment on the statement.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, killing over 20,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 52,586 others, according to health authorities in the enclave.
The Israeli onslaught has left Gaza in ruins with half of the coastal territory's housing stock damaged or destroyed, and nearly 2 million people displaced within the densely-populated enclave amid shortages of food and clean water.
Nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack, while nearly 130 hostages remain in captivity.
