BERLIN (AA) - The German Football League (DFL) confirmed Thursday that Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga will resume on May 16 after the leagues were suspended due to the coronavirus fears.
Addressing a news conference following the meeting of DFL member clubs, DFL President Christian Seifert said they will implement measures for hygiene and test.
Pointing out that it is an unusual period when the matches will be held, Seifert said: "A close watch will be kept on every match. Every match day is an opportunity for us to prove that we deserve the next match day."
Seifert also said that everybody is responsible to take precautions not to get infected with the coronavirus and expects everyone to fulfill this responsibility.
