ANKARA (AA) - German midfielder Leon Goretzka and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer have contracted the coronavirus, Germany's football body confirmed Wednesday.
"Leon Goretzka (27) and Manuel Neuer (36) tested positive for the Coronavirus on Wednesday morning," the German Football Association (DFB) said in a statement.
The Bayern Munich pair were isolated from the team and they "will leave the team hotel."
Additionally, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt left the team for "cold-like symptoms," the DFB said, adding that Brandt, 26, tested negative for the virus.
Goretzka, Neuer and Brandt are ineligible to play Friday against Hungary and bitter rivals, England, on Monday in the UEFA Nations League group matches.
Wolfsburg midfielder Maximilian Arnold and Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann were called up as replacements.
