ISTANBUL (AA) - German manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed on Sunday he would not work for Manchester United as a consultant due to the demands of his new role as Austria's head coach.
"By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not therefore be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford," Manchester United said in a statement.
"We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career," it added.
The 63-year-old took charge at the Red Devils last year, leading the team through the remainder of the season.
Rangnick will serve for Austria in the UEFA Nations League against Croatia, Denmark, and France in Group A1.
Manchester United finished the 2021-22 Premier League season in sixth place with 58 points.
