Germany's agricultural prices up 22.1% in December, highest since 2011

Prices up 1.3% on monthly basis, says Federal Statistical Office

ANKARA (AA) - Producer prices in Germany's agricultural sector were 22.1% higher in December 2021, compared to the same period of previous year, according to the Federal Statistical Office on Monday.

This has been the strongest annual increase in prices since July 2011, Destatis said in a statement.

On a monthly level, prices in December were up 1.3%, compared to the month before.

"The prices of plant products rose particularly strongly on the same month of the preceding year," the statement said.

"They were 28.8% higher in December 2021 than in December 2020. The prices of animal products increased as well and were up 17.4% year-on-year," it added.
