ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's annual inflation rate was 4.5% in September, down from 6.1% in August, the country's statistical authority said on Wednesday.
Food prices were the main driver of the inflation rate by increasing 7.5% year-on-year, according to Destatis.
Energy product prices rose by 1%, following an increase of 8.3% in August.
The inflation rate for services was 4%, while goods prices increased by 5%.
"The rate of inflation has dropped to the lowest level since the start of the war in Ukraine. It remains high, however," said Ruth Brand, the head of Destatis. "Consumers are still clearly feeling the higher food prices."
Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, consumer prices were up by 0.3% in September.
