ANKARA (AA) – Germany's annual consumer inflation slowed to 6.1% in August from 6.2% in July, according to a flash estimate released on Wednesday.
Core inflation, excluding food and energy, is expected at 5.5% in July, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) data showed.
Food prices increased 9% annually in August, easing from July's 11% hike.
The cost of energy, on the other hand, accelerated to 8.3% yearly after a 5.7% rise in the prior month.
On a monthly basis, Germany's consumer price index rose 0.3% in August.
