ANKARA (AA) – Germany's annual consumer inflation continued the downward trend as it fell to 6.1% in May, according to flash estimate released on Wednesday.
The reading was down from 7.2% in April, 7.4% in March, and 8.7% in February, the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in a statement.
Both year-on-year price hikes for food and energy slowed in May to 14.9% and 2.6%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, Germany's consumer price index fell 0.1% in May.
