Ankara (AA) – Germany's annual consumer inflation cooled to 3.8% in October, the lowest rate since August 2021, according to flash estimates on Monday.
The figure eased for the fourth consecutive month in October, which was down from 4.5% in September, the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis) data showed.
While energy prices dropped by 3.2% year-on-year in October, food prices surged by 6.1%.
Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, slowed to 14-month low of 4.3% in October from 4.6% in the prior month.
On a monthly basis, Germany's consumer price index is expected to remain unchanged from September 2023.
