ANKARA (AA) – Germany's annual consumer inflation rose to 6.4% in June, according to flash estimate released on Thursday.
The reading was up from the 14-month low of 6.1% in May, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in a statement.
Core inflation, excluding food and energy, is projected to come in at 5.8% in June, up from 5.4% in the prior month.
Food prices continued to show above-average growth with 13.7% from a year ago, while energy inflation accelerated to 3% in June from 2.6%.
On a monthly basis, Germany's consumer price index rose 0.3% in June, reversing from a 0.1% decrease in May.
