Germany’s factory orders grow in July

New orders in other transport equipment sector, which includes aircraft, ships, trains, and military vehicles, soar 86.5%, due to large-scale orders

ISTANBUL (AA) – Germany’s factory orders grew 2.9% on a monthly basis in July, following an upwardly revised 4.6% increase in June, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said on Thursday.

New orders in the other transport equipment sector, which includes aircraft, ships, trains, and military vehicles, soared 86.5%, due to large-scale orders.

Destatis said new orders for electric equipment up by 18.6%, also contributed to the rise, while new orders for machinery and equipment fell 6.1%, negatively impacting overall performance.

On an annual basis, new orders climbed by a calendar-adjusted 3.7% in July.
