ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's foreign trade balance posted a surplus of $29.87 billion in January, the federal statistical authority announced on Wednesday.
In the first month of 2024, the country's exports totaled €135.6 billion, up 0.3% year-on-year, while imports dropped by 8.3% to €108 billion, Destatis said.
Germany's exports to the EU countries amounted to €75.8 billion in the month while imports from them were at €61.2 billion.
Meanwhile, the country's exports to non-EU countries totaled €59.7 billion and imports were at €46.8 billion.
Germany's exports to Russia dropped by 34.2% to €700 million year-on-year in January, and imports went down by 82.4% to €200 million.
