ISTANBUL (AA) - Import prices in Germany dropped 1.3% in September on a yearly basis after a slight bump of 0.2% in August, the federal statistical office Destatis said Thursday.

The drop in import prices stemmed from falling energy prices, which lost 16.1% year-on-year in September.

"When energy prices are excluded, import prices in September 2024 were 0.6% higher than in September 2023," Destatis said.

The import prices of consumer goods rose 1.9% in September on an annual basis.

The country’s export prices posted a slight rise of 0.4% in September after a 0.8% increase in August.
