ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's import prices saw the largest annual drop in 2023 since 2009, the country's statistical authority Destatis announced on Wednesday.
Import prices of the country decreased by 8.3% during 2023, versus 2022, Destatis underlined.
In December alone, prices dropped by 8.5% on a yearly basis.
The huge price declines are still mainly due to a base effect resulting from the high price increases in 2022, related to Russia's war on Ukraine.
The country's export prices also saw declines, 2.4% in December and 0.3% in 2023 on average.
