ANKARA (AA) - Germany's industrial production fell more than expected in March, down 3.9% month-on-month, according to data from the country’s statistical authority on Friday.

This was the largest decrease since the onset of the coronavirus in April 2020, Destatis said in a statement.

Market estimate for the month was a 1% decline versus a 0.1% rise posted in February.

The contraction was driven by supply disruption caused by the Russian war on Ukraine and the coronavirus pandemic.

On an annual basis, industrial output was down 3.5%, the data showed.
