ANKARA (AA) – Germany's manufacturing employment declined 0.1% in October to 5.5 million people, according to official data released Wednesday.
The number of employed in manufacturing sector was down some 30,000 people, or 0.5%, compared to October 2020, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said.
The number of hours worked in October also decreased 2.9% from a year earlier, reaching 679 million hours.
The earnings, however, amounted to €23.2 billion ($26.1 billion) – up 1.3% from October 2020, according to Destatis.
The data includes local units of manufacturing in the country with 50 or more people employed.
