ANKARA (AA) – New orders in Germany’s manufacturing sector rose by 2.8% in December 2021 from the previous month, according to official data released on Friday.
Manufacturing orders increased by 5.5% on an annual basis, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said.
“Compared with February 2020, the month before restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic in Germany, new orders in December 2021 were 9.8% higher in seasonally and calendar adjusted terms,” Destatis said in a statement.
While domestic orders saw a strong increase of 11.7% in December compared to the previous month, foreign orders decreased by 3%, the data showed.
