ANKARA (AA) - Retail sales in Germany surged 7% year-on-year in February, the country's Federal Statistical Office announced on Thursday.
This was also up by 4.4% from the pre-pandemic figures of February 2020, Destatis said in a statement.
On a monthly basis, retail sales in Germany increased in real terms by 0.3% in February, the data showed.
"After turnover had declined in December 2021, retail trade recovered in the first months of 2022 although the so-called "2G" regulation, which restricts access to shops, still applied," it added.
