ISTANBUL (AA) — Cristhian Stuani inspired a second-half comeback as Girona beat Valencia 2-1 in the 15th week of the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.
Neither team were able to break the deadlock in the first 45 minutes of the game but Hugo Duro scored the opener with a close-range finish in the minute 56 at the Municipal de Montilivi stadium.
Stuani came off the bench in the 75th minute to level the game with a left-footed strike in the 82nd minute, with Yan Bueno Couto assisting.
In the 88th minute, the Uruguayan striker scored again from close-range to secure a 2-1 win at home.
Girona are top of the standings with 38 points, while Valencia are ninth with 19 points in 15 matches.
