Girona's dream Spanish La Liga run in the 2023-24 season continued with a 5-1 win against Sevilla on Sunday.
Sevilla's Spanish forward Isaac Romero brought the lead to the visitors with a shot to the bottom left corner in the 10th minute at Montilivi stadium, but then Girona's Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk took the stage.
He leveled the score three minutes later and then netted in the 15th and 19th minutes to complete his hat-trick.
Dovbyk's compatriot and teammate Viktor Tsygankov added insult to injury for Sevilla by netting his team’s fourth goal in the 56th minute.
Uruguayan veteran forward Cristhian Stuani netted the fifth goal of the hosts with a right footed shot to the center of the goal in the 89th minute.

Real Madrid and Barcelona managed to keep up their chase of leaders Girona by winning with last-minute goals on Sunday.
Real Madrid saved three points with Dani Carvajal's 99th minute goal against Almeria, and the match ended 3-2.
Barcelona were about to settle for a 2-2 draw with Real Betis until the 90th minute.
Joao Felix scored in the 90th minute, then Ferran Torres made it 4-2 just two minutes later.
Girona top La Liga with 52 points, followed by Real Madrid with 51 points and Barcelona with 44 points, both with one more match to play.
