ISTANBUL (AA) – Global air passenger demand grew 7.1% year-on-year in October, according to International Air Transport Association (IATA) data released on Wednesday.
Total air passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, increased 6.1% at an annualized pace in October, the association said.
The October load factor was 83.9%, up 0.8 percentage points from last year, IATA stated.
In a separate statement on Tuesday, the IATA said global demand for air freight, measured in cargo ton-kilometers, surged 9.8% on an annual basis in October, making its 15th consecutive month of growth.
