JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AA) - Global crises necessitate collaboration of the Islamic world more than ever before, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Saudi Arabia's finance minister, said on Thursday, adding that feeling one identity and having a common faith is important for economic development goals and enhancing efforts to overcome the hindrances.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group in the Saudi port city of Jeddah, he stressed that enhancing the flexibility of Islamic countries will enable them to address the changing environment globally.
"We have an opportunity to enhance cooperation and effectiveness to joint actions by sustainable development tools," he underlined.
He also noted that concerting common efforts is significant for the development goals, including empowering the youth to provide the necessary atmosphere for innovation.
Creating this environment with all necessary legal frameworks must be a duty of the Islamic world's organizations, he said, adding:
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen on attaining solidarity between Islamic countries."
He said Islamic countries need to work hand in hand and enhance cooperation in steadfast steps to attain this developmental environment and make the youth leaders in business innovatively.
