ISTANBUL (AA) - The global order of justice is a must to hold Israel accountable for killing innocents in Gaza, Turkish Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said Wednesday.
Speaking at a program in Ankara organized by Anadolu, Altun said: "The global order of justice, perhaps above all, is an obligation today to hold Israel accountable for killing tens of thousands of innocent people."
Underlining that the targeted killings carried out by Israel in Gaza resulted in the tragic loss of dozens of journalists' lives, Altun said Montaser Al-Sawaf, an Anadolu freelance cameraman, was killed in one of Israel's "inhumane attacks" in the strip.
He added: "80 journalists like Montaser were targeted and murdered by Israel."
Altun once again offered his condolences to Anadolu.
Al-Sawaf, along with his brother and other relatives killed in Israel's attack, was laid to rest on Dec. 1.
Israel has bombarded the Gaza Strip from the air and land, imposed a siege, and mounted a ground offensive in the wake of an Oct. 7 cross-border attack by Palestinian group Hamas.
At least 18,412 Palestinians have been killed and 50,100 others injured in the Israeli onslaught since then, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stands at 1,200, while around 139 hostages remain in captivity, according to official figures.
