ISTANBUL (AA) - Google introduced its new Pixel smartphones and a new smartwatch Wednesday at its Made by Google event in New York City.
The 6.2-inch Pixel 8 and the 6.7-inch Pixel 8 Pro, starting at $699 and $999, respectively, run on Google’s new Tensor G3, which the company dubbed its "most advanced chip."
They are the first smartphones to launch with the Android 14 operating system and will be available for pre-order Wednesday and will hit stores Oct. 12.
"With Google AI and the best Pixel Camera, it’s the most powerful, personal Pixel yet," Google said about the Pro model.
The G3 chip is custom-designed with Google's artificial intelligence to help users create photos and videos, day or night, it added.
The also introduced its Pixel Watch 2, equipped with the Fitbit platform which Google's parent company, Alphabet, acquired in 2021.
It starts at $345, has three new sensors for more precise information to track heart rate, skin temperature and signs of stress, said the company.
