ANKARA (AA) - Greece failed to reach the semifinals of EuroBasket 2022 on Tuesday as they suffered a surprise 96-107 defeat against Germany in the quarterfinals.
Germans took control of the game in the third quarter and managed to stay on top until the end of the game in Berlin.
Dennis Schroder led the host country to victory with 26 points and eight assists, while Daniel Theis' 13 points and 16 rebounds were vital for the Germans.
NBA Greek superstar star Giannis Antetokounmpo tried to rally his team by dropping 31 points, eight assists and seven rebounds but could not manage to save the Greeks.
Germany will take on Spain in the semifinals Friday.
In the other quarterfinal matches, Slovenia will face Poland and France will play Italy on Wednesday.
The final will be held at EuroBasket Arena Berlin on Sept. 18.
