ISTANBUL (AA) – The leaders of Egypt and Greece on Thursday discussed regional and international issues, including combatting irregular migration in the Mediterranean region, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the situation in Libya.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met in the coastal city of El-Alamein, and discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation, said Egypt’s presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy in a Facebook post.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of expediting the implementation of agreements.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed by the leaders, who agreed to continue military, economic, cultural, and energy cooperation between Egypt and Greece, Fahmy said.
