ANKARA (AA) – The draw for the 2022 World Cup group stage will take place in Qatar’s capital Doha on Friday.
Out of 32 nations featuring for the tournament, 29 of them have qualified for the World Cup. Two winners of the inter-confederation playoffs and one team from the European Qualifiers playoff will be decided later.
To seal the last two places from the inter-confederation playoffs, Peru will face either the United Arab Emirates or Australia, while New Zealand will meet Costa Rica.
For the last ticket to the World Cup from Europe, Wales will take on the winners Scotland or Ukraine in the playoff qualifier, which was delayed due to Russia’s war on Ukraine.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be held from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18 with 32 teams in eight groups.
