RIYADH (AA) – At least eight people were injured when gunmen stormed a hospital in Saudi Arabia’s northwestern Ha’il province and opened fire, Saudi daily Al-Riyadh reported Tuesday.
The newspaper quoted eyewitnesses as saying that a number of gunmen had opened fire outside Ha’il’s King Khalid Hospital, while others had forced their way into the building.
According to preliminary reports, eight people were injured in the incident, including at least one in critical condition.
Security forces have since surrounded the hospital, while several of the attackers remain inside, according to reports.
The Saudi authorities, for their part, have yet to officially comment on the incident.
