ISTANBUL (AA) - Erling Haaland has been forced to withdraw from the Norway squad over a groin injury, the Norwegian Football Federation confirmed on Tuesday.
"We hoped that this was just a familiarity that would carry over to Saturday, but after doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia," a statement said.
"It is better that he receives medical follow-up at the club."
Manchester City's inform-forward picked up a groin injury in a FA Cup match against Burnley on Saturday. Haaland scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 huge win to guide his team to the semifinals.
The 22-year-old has produced 42 goals in 37 appearances for the Sky Blues so far.
The Striker netted five goals in Tuesday's 7-0 win over RB Leipzig to become the youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals.
He also played for Borussia Dortmund from 2020-2022.
