ANKARA (AA) - Manchester City's Norwegian star Erling Haaland scored twice Saturday against Leicester City to reach 32 goals and tie Mohamed Salah for the most goals in 38 appearances in an English Premier League season set in 2017-18.
With the help of Haaland, who scored on a penalty kick in the 13th minute and netted another in the 25th, Manchester City beat Leicester City 3-1 in their relentless pursuit of leaders Arsenal.
The other goal for the Citizens came from John Stones in the fifth minute, while Kelechi Iheanacho netted the only goal for Leicester at Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens now have 70 points, while the Gunners are at the top with 73.
Arsenal are yet to play their week 31 match against West Ham United on Sunday.
The upcoming April 26 duel between Manchester City and Arsenal will be vital for the championship in the English league.
