ANKARA (AA) - Lewis Hamilton won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday to cut the gap to Verstappen in the title race to 14 points.
Hamilton was disqualified from qualifying and took a five-place grid over an engine change but he had an incredible performance in the 71-lap race at 4.3 kilometers (2.6 miles) at Interlagos.
Mercedes' British driver earned his sixth victory this season after completing the race with a time of 1:32:22.851.
Red Bull Racing Honda's Max Verstappen came second while Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes finished in third.
The Dutch driver Verstappen still leads the standings with 332.5 points, followed by Hamilton with 318.5 points.
Finland’s Bottas is third with 203 points.
The next race will take place in Qatar on Nov. 21.
