ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AA) - The head of Emirates News Agency (WAM), UAE's official wire service, on Wednesday said sports media is an important area that they are working on to "enhance further."
“It (sports media) is one of the important areas that we in the media are trying to enhance always, trying to see what other technology that we can have, and trying to implement new things … AI (Artificial Intelligence) or anything else,” Director General Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi told Anadolu on the sidelines of the three-day Global Media Congress 2023, which began in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Al Rayssi said the 2023 edition of the event is focusing on three major themes: environmental media, media education and innovation, and sports media.
Speaking on the success of the ongoing conference, he said around 11,000 people took part on the first day of the event, compared to 5,000 last year.
The participants are seeking to “see more opportunities, to learn more, to update themselves, and to see how the future of the media is going to be," the head of WAM added.
“So that's the difference that you can see. And you can see by yourself today when you go to the exhibition side … the huge numbers that we have today ... That's a very good sign. And we’re happy with it. And this will give us a big challenge for the next year. That it should be much more stronger, much more people would come, more international representatives."
The forum, jointly organized by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company and WAM, includes dedicated sessions with industry experts from across the globe on digital communication, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and innovation, among others.
