Lebanese group Hezbollah claimed fresh rocket attacks against military sites and settlements in northern Israel on Sunday.

The group said a volley of rockets targeted Israeli soldiers stationed in the Manara settlement in Upper Galilee and the Sa’ar settlement in Western Galilee.

No details were provided about injuries or damage.

Separately, Hezbollah confirmed the death of military commander Ali Karaki in an Israeli airstrike in the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday.

The group said Karaki, who was responsible for Hezbollah’s southern front, lost his life in the Israeli attack that also killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Friday.

The Israeli army has pounded Lebanon against what it called Hezbollah targets since Sept. 23, killing at least 816 people and injuring over 2,500, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the start of Israel's war on Gaza, which has killed nearly 41,600 people, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack by Hamas last Oct. 7.

The international community has warned that Israeli attacks in Lebanon could escalate the ongoing Gaza conflict into a wider regional war.
