BEIRUT (AA) – Lebanese group Hezbollah announced on Saturday the killing of four of its fighters in clashes with the Israeli army at the southern borders of Lebanon, bringing the death toll to 152 since Oct. 8 after the Hamas attack on Israel.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported that “Israeli warplanes carried out three raids targeting the coastal area between the towns of Qlaileh and Maaliyeh, near the Rashidieh Palestinian refugee camp in the district of Tyre (south).”
It pointed out that “one of the Israeli raids targeted a house between Charqiyeh and Kaouthariyet El Saiyad, about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the border.”
The agency added that “ambulance teams headed to the scene after receiving information about injuries.”
Earlier on Saturday, Hezbollah announced targeting the Meron base in northern Israel with 62 rockets.
It came as an “initial response” to the assassination of Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri a few days ago in the southern Dahieh area of Beirut.
