MARJAAYOUN, Lebanon (AA) – Lebanon's Hezbollah group on Wednesday said it targeted an Israeli infantry unit around Israeli Dovif barracks on the border between the two sides, resulting in killings and injuries.
Further details were not immediately available, but the Israeli army had earlier confirmed that two of its soldiers sustained minor and moderate injuries due to the launch of an anti-tank missile in the border area.
It said in a statement that “armed individuals fired an anti-tank missile at a force of the Israeli army in the Dovif area, while the Israeli army responded by artillery fire.”
“Israeli forces also attacked a number of sites used for launching anti-tank missiles associated with the Hezbollah group,” it added.
Tensions have flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border since the Oct. 7 cross border attack by Hamas.
