BEIRUT (AA) – Hezbollah on Tuesday targeted an Israeli military site in the Kfar Shuba Hills near the Lebanese border.

The group said in a statement that it targeted the al-Sammaqah site in the occupied Lebanese Kfar Shuba Hills “with appropriate weaponry.”

As of yet, Israel has not commented on Hezbollah's statement.

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s official news agency reported that Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Naqoura and Tayr Harfa in southern Lebanon.

Tensions have risen along the border between Lebanon and Israel, with intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-fledged war in 2006.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed nearly 36,100 people since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.
